Federal judge orders Virginia schools to drop restored Confederate names
Shenandoah County restored Stonewall Jackson High and Ashby-Lee Elementary in 2024, four years after dropping the names. A judge ruled the reversal discriminated against Black students, who number fewer than a dozen at each school.
