Our Mission

Most US public schools have no dedicated space online where parents, students, alumni, and staff can share what the school is actually like. Test scores and ratings tell one story. The people who walk through the doors every day tell another. allk12 puts both in the same place.

We aggregate public data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and the US Census Bureau (ACS), then layer community discussion and ratings on top. The result is a free, open directory where anyone can look up any US public school and find both the numbers and the conversation.

Who We Are

allk12 is a product of 7H Ventures LLC, an independent technology company based in Georgia. We are not a media company, not a data broker, and not affiliated with any school, district, or government agency. We build consumer web platforms that take messy public data and turn it into something people can actually use.

What We Cover

  • School profiles. Enrollment, demographics, grade range, student-teacher ratio, free and reduced lunch share, and more for every US public school.
  • County pages. ACS context (median income, education attainment, poverty, unemployment) alongside NCES school aggregates.
  • State directories. Browse by county, by city, or A to Z across every school in a state.
  • Community discussions. Threaded posts and comments on each school, tagged by flair (news, question, event, and more).
  • Community ratings. Five category ratings (teachers, safety, community, facilities, academics) once enough people have weighed in.

Where the Data Comes From

School characteristics come from the NCES Public School Characteristics release. County demographics come from the US Census Bureau American Community Survey 5-year Data Profile. Both are public datasets, cited on every page. Community content is contributed by users and does not represent the views of allk12 or any school.
