Which states require recess? Fewer than half, and three now demand at least 40 minutes
Fewer than half the states have a recess law, and not all of those require recess every day. Arkansas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma now set the highest bar at 40 minutes. Here is each state's daily minimum and the rules on taking recess away as punishment.
